Military Specification Packaging Labeling Requirements
MIL SPEC LABELS- MILITARY COMPLIANCE LABELS
Anyone with a government contract that supplies goods to the Department of Defense must comply with MIL-STD-129 labeling requirements for pallets and cartons and MIL-STD-130 for labeling of products. At MAC Packaging we are experts in this process and can help you understand the labeling requirements of your contract and ensure that you are in compliance to avoid delays, penalties, or loss of contract for non-compliance.
MIL-STD-129 AND RFID LABELS
MIL-STD-129 is used to maintain uniformity while marking military equipment and supplies. This specification requires that items must be properly marked for easy identification before they are transported. RFID labels are part of this marking process, as technology is digitally encoded in RFID tags or smart labels and captured by a reader via radio waves and stored in a database. Our team of experts will help you identify what is required for your contract in accordance with MIL-STD-129.
MIL-STD-130 AND UID LABELS
MIL-STD-130 specifies that government furnished property in possession of contractors and qualifying end item deliverables or legacy items be marked with a machine readable 2D Data Matrix bar code. This marking, also known as a UID Label, is most commonly a polyester or polymide label marked with a thermal transfer printer. Other methods are metal nameplate laser etched, metal plate metalphoto processed, direct part-marked by dot pen, ink jet, laser etch or chemical etch.
